The mission of the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML), founded in 1965, is to locate and preserve manuscripts world-wide, either through acquisition or digital photography. The digital collection includes over 125,000 manuscripts comprising over 40,000,000 individual pages. The physical collection includes over 10,000 pieces including manuscripts, incunabula, rare books, and individual pages.
An art and artifact collection of over 6,000 pieces includes paintings, lithographs, sculpture, tapestries and furniture. The Saint John’s Bible—the first fully hand-executed Bible since the invention of the Gutenberg press—is one of HMML’s prize possessions.
